Agent readiness guide

What AI assistants need before they can recommend a business

Agent readiness is the ability of a public website and its connected systems to give an AI assistant enough reliable information to discover, understand, compare, and safely advance a customer decision.

Five conditions for agent readiness

A useful readiness review separates five questions: can an assistant find the page, understand the offer, compare it with alternatives, verify the evidence, and identify a safe next action?

  • Discovery: important pages are public, crawlable, linked, and included in a sitemap.
  • Understanding: the offer, audience, location, constraints, and differentiation are stated in direct language.
  • Comparison: services, outcomes, prices when appropriate, and qualification rules are explicit.
  • Authority: claims are supported by named evidence, policies, authorship, and real business identity.
  • Action: the next step is clear, bounded, and compatible with human review.

What an audit can and cannot prove

A public page audit can verify observable evidence. It cannot guarantee rankings, citations, recommendations, or commercial outcomes. Those depend on external systems, competition, reputation, and the quality of the underlying offer.
